AHL suspends Hodgman for match penalty
- Updated: February 3, 2015
The American Hockey League announce on Tuesday that Portland Pirates forward Justin Hodgman has been suspended for one game as a result of a match penalty assessed in a game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on January 31.
Hodgman was assessed a match penalty for slashing with 5:45 remaining in the game Saturday at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut after an altercation with Sound Tigers’ forward Lukas Sutter.
Sutter was also given a match penalty for cross-checking and handed a one-game suspension by the AHL.
Hodgman will miss the Pirates game Friday in St. John’s, Newfoundland while Sutter is slated to miss the Sound Tigers next road game in Syracuse, NY.
